ACA savings checker

Marketplace savings depend on where your household income falls against the federal poverty level. This shows your percentage, whether you are inside the subsidy range, and which extra Silver-plan savings you would qualify for in Florida.

Figures shown are for

Everyone you file taxes with, including yourself.

Your modified adjusted gross income — roughly the total income you expect to report for the coverage year.

Why the percentage is the number that matters

Almost every marketplace savings rule is written as a percentage of the federal poverty level rather than a dollar figure, because the dollar figure changes with household size and every year. Knowing your percentage tells you which rules apply to you.

Florida did not expand Medicaid

That makes the 100% line unusually sharp here. In expansion states, people below it go to Medicaid. In Florida most fall into a gap with no affordable option, which is why getting the income estimate right matters more here than in most states.

Silver is the only metal that carries extra savings

Under 250% of the poverty level, Silver plans come with cost-sharing reductions built in. The same subsidy on a Bronze plan does not carry them. Below 250%, a Silver plan is usually worth comparing even when a Bronze plan looks cheaper.

What this tool does not do

It does not quote a premium. The credit depends on the benchmark Silver plan in your rating area, and plan prices for the coming year are not published yet. When they are, we can price your actual options.

Common questions

What is the income limit for ACA subsidies in Florida?

Between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. For 2027 that is about $15,960 to $63,840 for a single person and $33,000 to $132,000 for a household of four.

What happens if I earn one dollar over 400%?

You lose the premium tax credit entirely. The enhanced subsidies that softened that cliff have expired, so it is a hard line again.

What if I earn too little?

Below 100% of the poverty level Florida has no expanded Medicaid, so many people fall into a coverage gap. Talk to a broker before assuming — how income is counted can move you above the line.

Are cost-sharing reductions automatic?

They apply only if you choose a Silver plan and your income is under 250% of the poverty level. Pick Bronze and you give them up.
