Which Broward County, FL Medicare Advantage plans have 4 stars or more for 2027?

36 of the 44 Medicare Advantage plans in Broward County, about 82%, are offered under contracts rated 4 stars or more for 2027. 20 are at 4.5 stars and 16 at 4 stars. None of the 44 is rated 5 stars.

Star Ratings are given to the contract a plan is sold under, not to each plan, so every plan under one contract shows the same rating. CMS published the 2027 ratings on October 8, 2026. We count the plans by type rather than naming them, because a rating is one input among several: a plan with 4.5 stars can still be the wrong plan if your doctors are not in its network or your drugs are not on its list.

How the count was made

The plans are the 44 Medicare Advantage plans in the CMS landscape file for Broward for 2027, open to anyone with Part A and Part B who lives in the county. Special Needs Plans are counted separately and are not included. Each plan was matched to its contract’s overall rating in the 2027 Star Ratings data tables CMS released on October 8, 2026. The 44 plans sit under 19 contracts, and 15 of those contracts are rated 4 stars or more. Of the other 8 plans, 5 are at 3.5 stars and 3 at 3 stars.

What the rating does and does not tell you

The overall rating combines many measures, from screenings and care for chronic conditions to member complaints, members leaving the plan, appeals and call-center performance. A higher rating says the contract scored better on those measures. It does not say whether a plan covers your prescriptions, includes your doctors, or what you will pay. 33 of the 36 plans rated 4 stars or more have a $0 monthly premium, so in Broward the rating does not track the price either.

What to do next

Use the rating to break a tie, not to start the list. Begin with the plans that include your doctors and cover your drugs on their 2027 formulary, compare out-of-pocket maximums, and look at the rating last. Because none of these 44 plans is rated 5 stars for 2027, the 5-star Special Enrollment Period, which lets you switch into a 5-star plan once between December 8 and November 30, does not open any of them. Annual Enrollment ends December 7, 2026.

Are Special Needs Plans included?

No. These figures cover the 44 plans anyone with Medicare in Broward can join. The 62 Special Needs Plans are counted separately because each is limited to people who meet its eligibility rules.

Is a 4.5-star plan better for me than a 4-star plan?

Not necessarily. The difference reflects how the whole contract performed on CMS measures, not your doctors, your drugs or your costs, so check those first.

Is there a 5-star Medicare Advantage plan in Broward for 2027?

Not among the 44 plans open to everyone. The highest 2027 rating among them is 4.5 stars, which 20 of the plans share.
